a good book with a lot of advice on developing rich detailed character backstories and personalities as well as nice artwork and concept stuff. i've also looked at the book 'the art of video game environments' but its not quite as relevant for storying my fan fiction world and characters, its still got a lot of beautiful scenes and landscapes in it though that i can use as inspiration and reference when drawing up environments.
