after the first crit i went away and started to rough up some quick drawings of a character for the fan fiction. i wanted to have a hunter who looked skilled and who could be recognized to be wearing high end equipment, stuff you only get to dress in if you are a good hunter. monster hunter is a predominately male dominated gaming environment like most but i went with a female character this time round.. probably wont be a main character because if my target audience is mostly male they'll probably get on board better with a male character.
the drawing in the last pose are really the first drawings of any character i did, she's based on the 'Kirin' armour (above) because its a tough to obtain armour.
the poses are really just practice, if you look at my DA you'll quickly see that my drawings are mostly static and at eye level so i'm teaching myself to do perspective and dynamic drawings to make the comic and animation that much more interesting entertaining and swooshy. with these drawings i got a lot of inspiration not just from the game and its fan art but also from members of team udon. Arnold Tsang and Corey Lewis mostly.
