page 9

sky helps djinn out and leaves the scene after mocking his incompetence. you have to let a noob know they're a noob or how will they know? its online rules for social conduct. i'm not especially happy with the layout for this page so it might change when it come to the proper pages. also i need to get a reference for that 'quest finished' bit at the top so it isnt blank

page 8

page 8 brings a heroic reveal for super hero sky. i'm not sure if the story so far reads a bit sporadic or makes sense, i feel like i'm a bit close to the project to tell because if there are gaps and such i'm sure i'll just fill in the blanks without thinking when i look at it. so anyone reading this should let me know, i'm sure that that getting the story into 10 pages and making it understandable is difficult. i need a bit of help. tried to get a diminished perspective in to make her look more grandiose.

page 7

this one was an easy page to make after the last couple and i feel like i can get back onto the '1 or more a day' rule i set to keep myself in line for deadlines. the last pages have taken a great del of effort to learn how to make and took longer than a day to make in some cases. but now i know (ish) about how to do a great deal more things when i draw. this page uses more of the reference images i made with lucy as well as images from capcoms monster hunter.

black god

another great manga comic i've been looking at, black god contains a lot of action and has some amazing fighting sequences in it, considering that its from the same guys who brought out crouching tiger hidden dragon (in graphic novel form) thats not really a surprise though. still it was an invaluable help when drawing for some of the action scenes on page 6, especially when the characters or assets brake the borders of the panels they're in (e very helpful trick for drawing the eye in the direction you want) another cool thing that black god does is when it writes the sound effects down in large decorative fonts over the image (in both english and korean) good stuff to learn.

anyway, read black god if you like manga or anime as well as street fighter style violence and strange stories about dopplegangers and gods.

page 6

page 6 was another trick one for me because its really where most of the action is. action is hard for me because, as i think i've mentioned, i'm used to drawing such stale and static images. making this comic is teaching so much gear, i feel like a well better illustrator!
